August, 2009

Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you in a cool place. 107* today, & 100* at 9pm last night.   Special thanks to George Wallace & Joseph Bohnsack for their tremendous help building our new worship & picnic pavilion. In one 12 hour day we built a 16 x 30 foot pavilion to shelter our kids during outreach programs.

With everything ready for the July day camp, both of our route busses had mechanical failures the week before camp, leaving me no option but to cancel the event. We were never stranded, but I can’t run again until they are fixed. If I could have worked full time this summer in ministry, we would have had more outreach and the bus problems would not have shut down camp. Until God provides the support, I have to be responsible for my family’s & ministry’s finances and work other jobs to pay the bills.  We are at about 50% of our needed support.  We have scheduled a Harvest Party for an all day Sat event in October.

I am taking off the first week of Aug from both of my part time jobs to repair bus #10. This will include R&R both exhaust manifolds and replace the entire exhaust system. Then # 26 has another transmission problem, so it gets to come out again! By Labor Day these repairs will be behind us and both busses will be ready for a dependable & safe year of reaching and helping boys & girls for Christ.

Some of our kids are growing up in “homes” smelling, hearing, and seeing things I can’t even put in print.  Many have no one to love on, to cry on, or to even feel safe with, except the Gloryland Express workers!  Some come from very respectable, honorable families, but just haven’t had a church care enough to come to their “neighborhood” and show Gods love to them at their front door. If we don’t go to their door, how do we expect to reach their heart for Jesus? We are reaching families-kids-souls for Jesus in North Texas that no one else is reaching! Jesus even turned to the thief beside him while he was in great pain himself, for us! We need your prayers and financial support, bus parts and preparations for September are expensive.

God has given me a new ministry to hundreds of DBU international students while I drive their bus part time. Some are Christians, but many I see every day are searching! I was blessed with presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a Hindu chemist from Nepal and a Buddhist student from China this month. Pray that God will grow their understanding & faith. Many treat me like family, which is a real honor.

One of the girls who ride my DBU bus needs our help.  For privacy I won’t print a lot of details, but you may call me for more information. A couple of years ago her father went back to his homeland to start a Christian church, in Pakistan. They had been leaders in an underground church in another country. God blessed, the church grew, and then local Muslim leaders tried to seize the new property her father had just purchased for a real church building. Her father (Pastor) won a court battle! Then he was kidnapped!  2 weeks later he escaped! When the local police came, they arrested him, seizing all church & family assets of the pastor.  Pastor has been in jail for 4 months without contact, & our student has lost financial support for school or living. International visas limit where & how much she can work to help herself. If you would like to help this precious young lady and honor her fathers faithfulness to Christ, during this family crisis, please designate a special offering for “Pastor Sanaullah's daughter”.  Pray for her, her dad, the family, & the young Christian believers in Faith, Hope, and Love Ministries in Pakistan.

                                                                                                      Yours for Christ

July, 2009

Dear Friends,

Summer is a definite change of pace for all of us. As many of you know, we suspended our Sunday afternoon Chapels at the gym because of a shortage of bus riders & workers. Instead we have a once a month Saturday day camp program. 14 hours of fun, worship, discipleship & character development.

In June we went to the Dinosaur World & Creation Science Museums in Glen Rose, TX. Then we returned to Midlothian for water games, pizza blast, evening chapel, and ended with a sunset hayride. A day of many firsts for many of our kids.   (One day, $200.00 of fuel costs, plus meals & museums.)  We also had an end of season picnic & play day for the Mission Midlothian kids over at our house, and we transported a local church to their youth camp after their bus broke down, & brought them back home safely.

I took a week off from my part time jobs to prepare for the big day. John with Happy Camper came in from Chandler TX and we took a couple of days to repair #26's transmission. This was estimated to be a $4000.00 job, and we were able to do it for $400.00 of parts & a lot of sweat. Special thanks to John & the others who tried to help us get it fixed. The 90 passenger is back!

In between my other jobs this month trying to pay bills, I installed 70 feet of interior luggage racks in # 26, swapped out 4 bus tires, installed an emergency roof hatch on # 26, and began minor make ready repairs on #27. This is all in preparation for a full blown comeback this fall. As we prepare the equipment, they are just machines – tools. We need a dedicated team of God-called workers if we are going to make a difference this fall in young people’s lives & eternity. As in the past, I won’t bring in more kids than we have workers to take care of them. A local pastor met with me this month and said he is considering what part he & his church are going to have in the outreach this fall. Two others are praying about our outreach also.

May God bless these men as they seek Gods plan!

Because of the cost of fuel, we are going to continue the 1st & 3rd Sunday schedule for Gloryland Chapel on Sunday afternoons this fall. If God supplies the fuel money & workers, we plan to start a Midlothian bus route. Jesus taught us not to skip the local people around us! This larger outreach will only be possible as Gods people step up twice a month to take Jesus to the kids no one else is reaching. We have busses and drivers, but we need gas money and willing hearts to love the ones Jesus loved. Many reading this used to be great bus workers, and many others wish they had. Either way, your time isn’t up! It’s not too late!

How about sitting with a child twice a month on a bus, and just listen to a soul that needs to see the real Jesus that lives in you? Most of them don’t bite J, and you have the power to change eternity for some forgotten children. Not in Chicago, New Orleans, or New York, but right here! What about the Texas kids? Next year you could bump into souls at Wal*Mart that God used you to reach & change their outlook on life and Heaven. Please pray about it, consider it, and pray that someone steps up to support and/or go with us.

May you have a wonderful July, enjoy your family & friends, and remember your local church needs you.

                                                                                                      Yours for Christ

June, 2008

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Summer 2008. This summer promises to be full of challenges for all of us with fuel & food prices. At the same time, God didn’t say to go reach the multitude just when it is cool, easy or cheap! God’s ultimate purpose for his people doesn’t change with earthly conditions!

During May we had 534 attend programs, with 3 accepting Christ as Savior. Many of those who heard the gospel this month were already saved, but many of those made other spiritual decisions & commitments during the programs. We had the privilege of partnering with Mission Midlothian, Crossroads Private School, First Baptist Midlothian, First Baptist Joshua, & Midlothian Bible Church for special programs with their children. On May 14th a small tornado came through our property. The house has very little damage, but it picked up both playground castles & picnic tables and blew them across the yard, destroying them. We also lost 15 fence posts, a bus window, and have some roof damage. Quite a mess! The big picnic for our Sunday kids had to move back to the gym because of the storm damage. God greatly blessed the day with a peaceful spirit, over a dozen workers, and a really good service. A Special Thanks to all of you who gave of yourselves to make that day a great success!

We are very busy repairing storm damage & getting ready for our summer programs. Please pray with us for truly life changing decisions in the hearts of the young people God sends our way. It’s not too late to sponsor a child for $25, and help make a difference.

In my work part time with the International Dept. of Dallas Baptist University, I have had the privilege of providing bus transportation to off campus housing, shopping trips, and special field trips. God has brought these students from around the world, & is allowing me to meet many new friends. As with my American friends, this is also an opportunity to present our living Savior! I have prayed to Jesus with Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and others. Just like in inner city America, I’m not trying to change a culture, but to send them home with the assurance of a home in Heaven one day through Jesus Christ.

Recently after one of our evening parking lot chapels in a bus, a 5 year old went home and got ready for bed. As he said his bedtime prayers with his mom, he changed his regular prayer a little. This night he thanked God for giving us a clean heart when we get saved! Guess what the message was about that night for the 58 attending that chapel! How can anyone say this is too expensive, we have to keep going!

30 years ago it was common to see 2, sometimes 3 church busses picking up on the same street, and there were plenty of kids for everyone. Now it seems the only competition on the streets are the bad guys,

and there are still plenty of kids for everyone!  We have the best busses we’ve ever had, and a gym to fill up for Jesus! Many times the bad guys are winning in these precious little lives just because we aren’t even showing up to proclaim Jesus is Lord. If we don’t, who will? Pray for us as we try to develop a larger outreach for the fall season, and think about being part of the team! (In some cases, again)

May you have a great June, enjoy family & friends, and stay safe!

              Yours for Christ

                   Wyatt

May, 2008

Dear Friends,

Hello from the Snider’s & the Gloryland Express folks.  We hope you are doing well.  Along with the higher temp. and higher prices for everything, we have a higher calling and responsibility to help the hurting and win souls to Christ!  We invite you to partner with us in prayer, become a helper, and any support God might lead you to be involved in.  Debbie & I were the only adults on the Sunday bus, the whole month!

In April we had 270 attend our programs, with 3 accepting Christ as Savior!  I had the opportunity to witness to & pray with many International students from Dallas Baptist University, where I recently began driving part time for the International Dept.  I will share much more about my many new international friends next month.  We also helped a family with a recovery from a tragic trauma scene.  In another family, a lot of assistance was given to family intervention for the safety of a young person who has been with our programs for 8 years.  Please pray for these families.  I was called out 3 times by 2 organizations & state authorities to assist in Eldorado & San Angelo TX.  Over 400 children, parents, first responders, & state workers needed me to respond with the call, training, & experience God has given me.  Unfortunately this time I wasn’t able to go.  Without full time support, I have to be responsible to our family & ministry working part time jobs.  That was a tough choice to make;  please pray that next time I will be able to go!

After much searching & prayer, we found the local church where God wants us.  We have met some new friends, and renewed some old friendships.  Some go all the way back to high school.

Our new church home is FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, MIDLOTHIAN, Pastor Bruce Prindle.

This is not a position, no strings! Just a refreshing & peaceful place to worship & call home.

This summer I will be traveling with a lot of youth outreach programs, and our day camps will be June 21, and July 19. These will be $25.00 per camper, and these will be for at risk kids in our ministry areas.

Call for updates & registration forms.  Please consider sponsoring some young people for the high point of their summer, and for a meeting with Jesus in the middle of it.  We are also going to make some updates to Gloryland bus #1, preparing it to be back in service as a mobile chapel this fall.  It’s been out of service since June '07, & we’ve been using the Monster Bus for street chapels.  By September, my hope is to have the transmission on #26 fixed also.  In my “spare” time, I’ll continue to work part time jobs trying to meet the needs.

Not knowing what God was doing, but following His direction, I sold the Jeep & soon will be selling the Monster Bus.  I thought, "Hey, we’re going to be all right for a while."  Then I saw his purpose.  We’re still going  to be all right, but not because we have money.  A few days later we drove home a beautiful, low mileage, Greyhound type charter bus.  It is a TMC-9 with new paint, new seats, and a new engine.  With a little clean up & make ready, it should be ready to go into service by June.  We want to share our blessing.  We are going to stay a USDOT Motor Private Carrier, and in those guidelines we would love to assist you in your ministry transportation outreach needs.  If interested in our newest bus ministry operations, please call soon.  The summer schedule is filling up fast.

VBS  Directors:   Wanna double your VBS this year, we have the busses!     Give us a call!

March, 2008

Dear Friends,

Hope this finds you well and enjoying Gods peace in your life.  If not, remember He still loves you right where you are, even if you don’t feel like it right now.

February was fruitful, and had its struggles.  First, the good news:  we had 456 in attendance, 1 saved, and dozens prayed about their relations with others (Valentines month).  Our field trip to Oak Cliff for Black History Month was a big success.  Special thanks to King Rap (Johnny Johnson) and his W.E.K.I.N. program.  We all enjoyed the honor & privilege of worshiping & singing with such a special event.  Why do we fight and hurt each other, W.E. are K.I.N.?  Acts 17:26.

The flu, viruses, and not having bus #26 has affected attendance in many of our programs. I have worked a lot of side jobs trying to pay the bills & put a little back to help fix the torque converter on bus #26.  I know God has someone out there who will help us get the big bus back on the street helping lost & hurting people.

The family who owns the gym we use on Sundays has agreed to rent it to us for our summer camp programs.  Now all we need are the funds to make it happen.  With the money, our wonderful team of workers, and a special touch from Heaven, this could be our greatest summer in years for Christ.  Financial decisions made by God's people this month will determine if our summer program for at-risk kids can develop, or if I have to go to plan “B” for the summer outreach.

I have a special ministry opportunity developing with some international students at a local university.  More details as this develops next month.  Pray that this door stays open.

We are faithfully searching for the church home God has for us to worship and serve in.  As of this printing, His direction still isn’t clear.  Unfortunately, this means we have no congregation to ask for Easter eggs.  (First time in 32 years).  Would you consider mailing either a special donation to help us buy eggs, or even mailing a box of stuffed plastic eggs or candy eggs?  You can call it a Care Package for the Gloryland Kids.  This Easter celebration is all many of our kids get for Easter, and it ought to be special. Even better, bring them with you when you join us Easter Sunday afternoon. We would love to have you join us!

Please share this letter with family, friends at work, and your pastor.   May you have a wonderful Easter, and as they say, “don’t forget the reason for the season.”

                                                                                                Yours for Christ,

  Wyatt

February

Dear Friends,

We hope you had a good month.  It has been a great month for the ministries of Gloryland Express.  God blessed us with 832 attending chapels & school programs, with 19 of those accepting Christ as their Savior!!   We prayed with dozens of young people dealing with a wide variety of issues from family, to the Holy Spirit, to drugs, sex, even suicide.  This spiritual battle is real, and many of these kids feel like they are dealing with it all alone.  You can be a part of the “Ground Support” for these kids.  Pray for our kids, and give so we can stay in their lives. What if Gloryland Express had not been there in January for these 19 souls?  There will be 38 more foot prints in the gold dust in Heaven one day!  Its time we got serious about what was/is important to Jesus, the souls of people!

We also assisted a mom & kids recovering from a violent family situation, referred by a local police department.

Taking care of business, I worked a few commercial jobs, we held our annual Board of Directors meeting, state inspected bus #10, and updated my DOT drug test. ( I needed a test to know I was clean J )!

Now for the bad news.  On January 27th our 90 passenger bus blew the torque converter, a part of the transmission.  We are now running bus #10 (our 66 pass bus), but the promotions for outreach are cancelled for Feb., including our big skate party.  These activities are all planned to reach more young people with the Gospel, but we can’t out grow what we can carry on the bus.

Our Sunday Chapel has been invited to sing & preach during a Black History Month program in Dallas on the 24th of Feb.  We need bus #26 (the big one) to handle the crowd that day.  We NEED your help!  I can’t afford to take off work long enough to repair the bus, and I can’t afford to have it done.  We need $1500.00 to have the bus fixed at a reliable heavy duty truck shop.

Please pray for our ministry and consider helping us stay on the street where our mission field is.  There are still a few seats left on the Gloryland Sponsorship Bus, and this greatly affects how much I can be in the kid’s lives.  Thanks for caring!!

Some new pictures & information will post on the web site in about a week.

                                                                      Yours for Christ,

                                                                      Wyatt

January

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year from the Snider’s.  We saw many blessings during December.  The Christmas season provided some extra employment which helped pay some bills & meet ministry needs.

Some County Jail & Courthouse visits allowed me to help some men during real hard times in their lives, which lead to some family counseling.  Children of inmates are often forgotten victims.  Family and legal problems don’t take a holiday break!

Bus repairs included an alternator, a front axle spring, a battery, and two state inspections.

We had 652 attend our programs in December, with 10 accepting Christ as Savior.  One of those was an adult man during our Christmas Eve, Eve service.  Some adults are coming with their kids.

Through the generosity of Liberty Baptist Church, and many others, our Christmas service at Gloryland Chapel was a great success.  We had 68 on the bus, 96 in the service, and all the children received gift bags along with other larger gifts.

While I rejoice in what God has done in 2007, it’s time to get to work reaching & helping people in 2008.  Below is a list of goals for this year.  Please pray, consider financial support, and come see one of our programs for yourself.  God is transforming some young lives and you could be a part of that.  We have to make the financial decisions for summer camps by March.

If you are a Pastor, Deacon, or Administrator, please consider allowing us to present our ministry for support.  God blesses those who support soul-winning ministries.  Soon there will be updates in pictures and news on the website.  Please share a copy of this newsletter with someone else who cares about kids!

                                                                      Yours for Christ,

                                                                      Wyatt
