2009 Christmas Parade

CHRISTMAS  IN JESUS'  NAME

Attendance during December increased in the after school programs, Wed night bus route, & in the Sunday chapels. We also partnered with Mission Midlothian in the Midlothian Christmas parade.

By the middle of Dec we only had a dozen or so toys for our kids. We prayed & asked God to provide! WOW, is he a great God! The last two weeks before Christmas toys & money for toys poured in from all over Tarrant, Dallas, Ellis, Johnson & Kaufman counties, and as far away as San Antonio, Wichita Falls, Georgia & West Virginia. In 3 cases, total strangers came to us and said “we have some left over toys, could you use them?” We ended up with over 500 toys, plus candy, cookies, brownies, tooth brushes,

tooth paste, & dial soap for everyone. A wonderful army of volunteers helped organize & distribute all of the above. Many children from Duncanville, Cedar Hill and Buffalo Hills went home with the only gifts they were going to get this Christmas and knowing Gods people loved them. We had 98 in the Dec 20th service with some parents visiting & even a lady from our bus route / youth group in the mid 1980’s with her daughter. SEVEN folks accepted Jesus into their hearts & lives during the service!

Special thanks to New Hope Southern Baptist Church/Kaufman, First Baptist Church/Midlothian, Tent Makers Class, Freedom Community Church, Mission Midlothian, Manna House, Vitovsky Elementary, Midlothian H.S., Chariots of Light M.C., friends from Ellis Co. V.O.A.D., and everyone who helped make this a Christmas & Thanksgiving our kids will remember the rest of their lives. This was the most toys ever given to our Christmas program, and may God bless all involved in it with a Wonderful New Year.
